Motorola has quietly expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the new Moto G Max. Interestingly, the device appears to be a rebranded version of the recently announced Moto G87, offering the same core specifications under a different name.
The Moto G Max features a large 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, ensuring a vibrant viewing experience even under direct sunlight. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with ample RAM and storage options for seamless multitasking.
One of the key highlights of the device is its 200MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), designed to capture detailed photos in various lighting conditions. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone also offers premium durability with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, along with military-grade certification for enhanced protection against dust, water, and accidental drops. A large battery with fast-charging support further strengthens its appeal in the mid-range segment.
With the Moto G Max, Motorola appears to be adopting a market-specific branding strategy while retaining the impressive hardware package of the Moto G87. This move allows the company to target different regions and customer segments without introducing an entirely new device.
